The Combat Club...back with a bang!

Evening all,

I am so happy to be back.

Didn’t lose a single sub either!?

We will take it.

Anyway… I always felt this was the weekend to get going again with the UFC making their much anticipated return to London.

Also, for the boxing fans, while this weekend is quieter, we have Inoue vs Fulton and Spence vs Crawford coming up in the next few weeks so plenty to be excited about.

By the way, if you haven’t seen the first two episodes of Showtimes ‘ALL ACCESS’ for Spence vs Crawford, I have a left a link below, they are well worth watching.

UFC LONDON

Later in the week, we will really dive into the whole London card but it’s an interesting one because it lacks the ‘big’ names we have become accustomed to.

I always love these cards because there is always some ‘unknown’ that will emerge or a viral moment that steals the show.

UFC 291 next week has the name value but I think London might be a little bit of a sleeper and it could produce some big moments.

That said, there are negatives and you know I will always be honest on these issues.

The ticket prices are a joke.

Plain and simple.

In my opinion, the UFC watched what happened last year and watched the reactions to Leon Edwards, Paddy Pimblett & Tom Aspinall and thought that they could simply put on a show and we would show up.

The 02 will still be rocking on Saturday but many people I know have rightly taken a stand and not bought a ticket.

The UFC know fans over here will come out and create an atmosphere better than anywhere in the world but we won’t be ripped off in the process.

Let’s hope Dana and the rest of the UFC get the message.

The New Stuff…

As I mentioned in the comeback edition, I will be releasing audio episodes onto Substack.

I don’t really know if calling it a podcast fits but it will add another dimension to what we have here and I am excited about that.

I will release episode one on WEDNESDAY 19th July.

This will basically be an introduction into what it will look like going forward and what day’s you can expect it to land on the Substack app.

But…

If you do have any questions about MMA, Boxing, upcoming fights, cards or talking points, put them in the comments below and I will include them in the show.

As I mentioned, all audio versions will be uploaded to the Substack App, so please ensure you are on there.

It’s really simple and will help going forward.

Friday’s Final Word will be released in it’s usual slot of 9pm on Friday and will include the picks which I know a lot of you are here for.
